Veganism

I sometimes wonder if I would be better off on a vegetarian diet. I might be able to swing it if I could still eat eggs. But I don't think I could handle being a vegan. There's a lot of restrictions and discipline involved. Anything that comes from an animal, you can't eat. But some people do it. If you're interested or even mildly curious, perhaps you should check out my renter, The Vegan Diet. Chock full of recipes and useful information!

I can't do it. I have a hard enough time getting all the required veggies in!
Especially with the new food pyramid and everything! Geesh!

PETA stuff on the first post. No thanks. While I loves me some animals, those folks are crazy.

I used to be vegetarian when I lived alone. Just because I don't "do" uncooked meat. GAG ME.

I often contemplated being a veggie for a healthy diet as I don't eat a lot of meat anyway. My sister has been a vegetarian since she was quite young

For a while I was a fish eating veggie (which isn't really a veggie at all because fish are animals) but somehow meat slipped back in.

I tried being a vegitarian for a while and gained so much weight. My body doesn't like it and too much of the vegetarian food I just don't like.

Robin, being a vegetarian can be quite tricky because it requires making really wise food choices. Some people make the mistake of eating too many carbs in an effort to fill the void that meat left. Could that be what happened?

Equisite Chick, I don't eat that much meat either, but I don't know if I could just cut it out completely. I'd have to eat an awful lot of beans to make up for it.

Maggie, I haven't seen this new food pyramid. Maybe I should!

KG, yeah some of them are pretty extreme in the way they choose to protest.
